JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting The CP Way by developing and implementing regularly scheduled educational and therapeutic programs for students qualifying for services.
Job Title: Occupational Therapist Reports to: Director of Special Services
Bargaining Group: WWVEA FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION & BENEFITS:
Position: 7.5 hours per day, 4 days a week, 190 days per school year (10 months)
Salary: $51,152 - $99,299 (educational incentive available in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement as negotiated)
Anticipated Start Date: 08/21/2023

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED)
- Associates Degree or four years of college and Washington State Department of Health License

- Must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language to communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents, district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job related activities
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Successful experience as an Occupational Therapist
- K-12 Education Experience.
- Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish is considered helpful. District tests to verify skill levels.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement regularly scheduled educational and therapeutic programs for students qualifying for services.
- Organize and implement Child Find activities for children at risk for disabilities;
- Evaluate and develop programs for students as appropriate;
- Select and use adaptive equipment to meet the needs of eligible students;
- Prepare materials for individual or group therapy;
- Move and position students with disabilities;
- Participate in evaluation team meetings comprised of educational, therapeutic and other special services staff as appropriate;
- Participate regularly in staff meetings, in-service programs, workshops, and seminars;
- Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students;
- Update and maintain records of student progress and other data as necessary;
- Participate in training activities which facilitate professional growth in area of assignment
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment; however, travel is required to local school districts and program sites, and for workshops, committee representation and conferences at local, regional, and state level. Sitting for extended periods of time may be required. Lifts and carries a maximum of 35 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
