Reports to:  Assigned Building Principal

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

 

 

POSITION & BENEFITS:

 

Position:  Max 50 hours per year

 

Salary:  $25 per hour, max 50 hours per year

 

Anticipated Start Date: 11/18/2024

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18 years of age; and
  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Background check through Washington State Patrol, as required by RCW 43.43.830.
  • The individual must be an accomplished pianist with the ability to sight-read
  • Ability to demonstrate that he/she is an accomplished pianist
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professional staff members
  • Ability to work with students with various levels of skills and abilities
  • Must serve as a positive role model to students
  • Must have the ability to drive to various school campuses
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Ability to communicate verbally and through email
  • Should have basic musical theory knowledge

ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish is considered helpful. District tests to verify skill levels.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HOURS: On-call based on the needs of the College Place School District music program
  • Accompanist will attend classes as needed for rehearsals and provide accompanist services for evening performances
  • Serve as piano accompanist
  • Assist the school music instructor with rehearsals, concerts, clinics, and special performances
  • Willingness to work an "on call" schedule, understanding that attendance would be required for rehearsals and evening performances
  • Work with individual students and/or groups of students as assigned
  • Maintain confidential nature of all school-related matters
  • Perform other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

WORKING CONDITIONS:  The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Generally, the job requires:
    • ~ 2% lifting ~ 40 lbs.
    • ~ 18% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking
    • ~ 80% of the time working from a sitting position
  • This job is performed under temperature variations consistent with indoor and outdoor temperatures.
